Bat Valley Theatre, Uganda Theatre Fraternity, and Diamond Ensemble Entertainment have made s decision to celebrate the life of comedian Kato Lubwama who died on the 7th of June 2023.
To this end an event commemorating the late Kato Lubwama’s legacynhas officially been scheduled and its date communicated to the media. are organizing an event
Dubbed “Kato Lubwama: A Forever Legacy”, the event is scheduled for Friday 7th June 2024 at the Bat Valley Theatre.
The organizers reveal the move is to honor Kato Lubwama’s legacy of creativity, innovation, and social impact.
This event was very intentional because it also coincides with the day Kato Lubwama died of a heart attack at his home in Mutundwe after a series of medical procedures and operations.
Kato Lubwama, a celebrated dramactor breathed his last on 7th June 2023 aged 52 years old. He was a Ugandan filmmaker and theatre actor in plays including central roles in Bakayimbira Drama actors.
In his entertainment journey, Kato Lubwama started out as a stage actor in theaters in Kampala in the 1980s.
He later became a film writer, comedian and play writer at the National Threatre in Kampala.
Kato Lubwama was very diverse that he was also a radio presenter and show host with Abby Mukiibi Nkaaga on the Buganda Kingdom owned CBS fm called Kalisoliso.
He recorded and released songs like Bank
Yebyama, Dimitinya and Ekisolo on his album titled Abantu Bazibu.
Kato Lubwama entered the political arena as member of Parliament for Lubaga South from 2016 to 2021.
