Anti-Homosexuality 2023 bill: Gays to face 20years to Life imprisonment in Uganda

Anti-Homosexuality 2023 bill has been passed by members of parliament this evening.

Kampala – Ugandan parliament has Tuesday evening passed the Anti-Homosexuality bill, 2023

The Bill was presented for the second and third reading by the Bugiri Municipality legislator, Mr. Asuman Basalirwa.

The Bill, among others, seeks to prohibit same-sex sexual relations, strengthen Uganda’s capacity to deal with domestic and foreign threats to the heterosexual family.

It will also safeguard traditional and cultural values and protect youth/children against gay and lesbian practice through imposing penalties on the perpetrator.

Punishments range from 20 years in prison to Life imprisonment
